Mirfield printing.com gets positive about sport

Mirfield Printing.com are working closely with award winning national mental health sports scheme PMA.

We are working to help the trust develop more connections in the North and provide web functions that bring the leagues together in one place online. Coupled with photography, printed brochures, banners and a new web design for the whole of the PMA online function.

Director of Mirfield Printing.com Andrew Moore comments"

We really want to support this good cause Trust, as it bring new options to people with mental illness that would not normally get opportunities like these. Using sport as the main team building process has transformed the lives of so many people and deserves more support from local football clubs and NHS trusts". "Jeanette's passion for the Foundation is infectious and we are thoroughly looking forward to helping her grow the Trust over during 2010"

The Positive Mental Attitude Sports Foundation Trust (PMA) is a Community Interest Company (CIC). It is a nationwide Award winning community sports initiative, which uses sport as a therapeutic tool to aid the recovery and social inclusion of people living with enduring mental health issues. The PMA works in partnership with health and social care, Local councils, and other community services.

Founder of the PMA Janette Hynes (MBE)

The PMA sports initiative was developed in 2003 by Janette Hynes (MBE) an Occupational Therapist who specialises in the area of mental health. Janette is an ex professional footballer, a personal fitness trainer and has attained the level 3-football coaching badge.

Janette has won numerous awards based on her achievements following the introduction of the PMA initiative.

· Award MBE for ‘Contribution to Disability Sport’. 2008/09

· Mayor’s award for ‘Services to Sport in Hackney’ 2008/09

· London pro-active Inclusive & Active Ambassador 2008/09

· Medical Futures ‘Social Entrepreneur of the Year’ Award 2007/08

2010 will be a great year for PMA as it continues to reach out to new areas in the north and adds new teams to its expanding league programme.
